Our Doctrine

Wellspring Prayer Center is an ecumenical Christian ministry with prayer team members from about fifteen area churches.  Our beliefs are those historical beliefs which serve as the foundation for the Christian faith, as contained in the Apostles’ Creed.

Because we are a prayer ministry that focuses on praying for the sick, we place particular emphasis on our prayer team members being conduits of both the love of God and the healing power of His Holy Spirit.  Paul’s admonition in Galatians 5:6 that “the only thing that counts is faith, expressing itself in love” shapes our approach to praying for the healing of the sick.

We also affirm the work God does through doctors, nurses, counselors and other medical professions to bring healing to a person’s mind and physical body.  So we encourage everyone who receives prayer for healing to continue with their medical treatment and continue taking their medications until they are released by their medical professional.  We also believe that God heals in answer to the prayers of His people who believe. It is for this reason that this ministry exists.
